ABOUT
Katie Smith is a Los Angeles based Story Artist and Filmmaker with experience boarding for feature and short films, mini-series, and commercials.
Currently she’s working at Warner Brothers Pictures Animation on a feature film in development, and previous clients and companies include Nickelodeon features, WildBrain for Apple TV+, Hasbro’s feature film division, Passion Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation, Blue Sky Studios, and DreamWorks Feature Animation.
In 2018 Katie obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Southern California (USC) where she studied animation, live action filmmaking, and writing. From 2021 to 2024 she had the pleasure of returning to USC as an Adjunct Professor, and taught Introduction to Storyboarding and Intermediate Animation Production to the incredibly talented college sophomores.
When she’s not drawing and writing, Katie enjoys trying her best at surfing, getting lost in a book or film, and going on adventures in her campervan with her boundlessly energetic dog, Zelda, and grumpy kitty, Gizmo.
